Terms of Service
Last updated: March 6, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using LifeDash ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.
LifeDash is developed and maintained by an individual developer ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and the developer.
2. License
LifeDash is free and open-source software distributed under the AGPL-3.0 License (GNU Affero General Public License v3.0). You are free to use, study, modify, and redistribute the Software under the same AGPL-3.0 terms. If you modify LifeDash and make it available over a network, you must also make your modified source code available under the AGPL-3.0. Commercial licenses are available separately for use cases that cannot comply with these terms.
The full license text is available in the project's GitHub repository.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Software for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Misrepresent the origin of the Software or claim authorship of the original work.
- Remove or alter any copyright notices, license text, or attribution included in the Software.
4. User Data & Privacy
LifeDash is designed with privacy as a core principle. All your data — including meeting recordings, transcripts, notes, projects, and personal settings — is stored locally on your machine. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your personal data through the desktop application.
For full details on data handling, please see our Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party AI Services
LifeDash integrates with third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, Kimi, and others) using your own API keys. When you use AI features:
- Data is sent directly from your machine to the AI provider — it does not pass through our servers.
- Your use of these services is governed by the respective provider's terms of service and privacy policies.
- We are not responsible for how third-party AI providers handle your data.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. You use the Software at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Software.
8. Termination
As open-source software under the AGPL-3.0 License, you may use LifeDash indefinitely. However, we reserve the right to restrict access to project resources (such as the website or support channels) if you violate these Terms.
- Your locally stored data remains yours — we have no ability to access or delete it.
9. Updates & Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Software or our website. Continued use of the Software after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Software updates may be released periodically. While we recommend keeping the Software up to date, you are not required to install updates.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing other remedies.
